WHAT HAVE I LEARNED
From what I understood from the meeting via Zoom on September 12, 2023, is that Design Thinking is a problem-solving approach that has gained immense popularity across various industries in recent years. As I delved into design thinking, I discovered a powerful methodology beyond aesthetics and focusing on human-centered innovation. Here are some insights and lessons I've learned about Design Thinking.
Divergent and Convergent Thinking
Design thinking encourages both divergent and convergent thinking. Divergent thinking involves generating a wide range of ideas, while convergent thinking involves selecting the most promising ones. This iterative process of brainstorming and refining ideas has shown me the importance of embracing ambiguity and exploring multiple solutions before settling on a final concept.
Implementation and Scaling
Design thinking doesn't end with a brilliant idea; it extends to implementation and scaling. I've come to understand that creating a plan for implementation, considering feasibility, and addressing potential obstacles is vital to see a concept through to fruition.
Prototyping and Testing
Building prototypes and conducting user testing are integral parts of the design thinking process. I've learned that prototypes are not necessarily high-fidelity products but can be simple sketches, models, or wireframes that help visualize ideas. User testing provides valuable feedback and validation, allowing for continuous improvement.
